I love reading blogs. I could spend most of the day reading what others are doing creatively. I find it very inspiring. Then I come back here and I’m really disappointed in my blog. It’s just soooo boring. There isn’t any quilty news, no quilty love, no interesting photos. Other blogs are bright and colorful, like this one, this one and this one. Where do they find the time to blog and quilt and garden and take care of several kids and a spouse?
I haven’t finished anything quilty since I completed Ella Bella’s Funky Monkeys quilt for her birthday the end of May. I have been packing and moving and gardening. There is no time for sewing and quilting. Here is a photo of my current sewing space at Bill’s house. What a disaster, huh?
Bill did jump in and put up a shelf on one side of the room for me to store some of my fabric. He is going to put one up on the other side as well. We got the shelves and the boxes at IKEA but I still have more fabric stashed away in several other totes.
How long before I get back to quilting? Will this blog ever be bright and colorful and exciting? Will there ever be a number of people following me on Google Reader? Maybe I’m just not that creative. Creativity isn’t just putting pretty material together, it’s in the mind and the eye. These people ARE creative, not attempting to be creative. Maybe if I keep trying I will eventually think creatively without actually having to think about it.
What about you? Any comments?
Thanks for stopping by…

I just read several posts on your blog, and it isn’t boring!!! I like to read blogs too, but not just for sewing inspiration. It’s interesting to have a peek at other people’s lives, where they are coming from, where they are going. You’ve had some huge changes in your life in the past few years, and thank you for opening your heart on your blog and allowing me to share in it a little bit.
